“The most beautiful distribution centre in the Netherlands”. That's how Sales Manager Herman Cohen of Stertil calls the new distribution center NewLogic III. Commissioned by Heembouw, Stertil engineered, manufactured and installed 37 Dock Levellers, 37 Dock Doors, 2 ground level doors and 36 Dock Shelters.
NewLogic III is a state-of-the-art distribution centre at business park “Het Laar" in Tilburg, The Netherlands, directly adjacent to the A58 motorway. ‘A real eye-catcher’, says Cohen. “That not only applies to the futuristic design, but also to the high degree of sustainability. NewLogic III more than meets the requirements of BREEAM Outstanding (the Green building standard). It's great that we Stertil can make a valuable contribution with our products solutions”.
The Dock Levellers, doors and Shelters from Stertil fit seamlessly with the vision of DOKVAST, the owner of the distribution centre and have extensive experience with BREEAM and has property developers approache the "energy" category with the Trias Energetica approach. Three steps are central to this energy-efficient design strategy: ensure an airtight outer shell; use sustainable energy and try to reduce the use of fossil fuels. "We contribute to the airtight skin", says Cohen. “We have used 80 millimetre thick dock doors with a very high insulation value. The doors are equipped with burglar-resistant panoramic windows".
Cohen continues, “Our well-sealed Dock Levellers also make an important contribution to the BREEAM score. We have delivered and installed 34 Dock Levellers of 3 by 2 meters and a capacity of 8 tons. The other 3 Dock Levellers are socalled “Jumbos” of 5 by 2 meters. They are extendable and have capacities of 10 tons.. The Dock Shelters are at least as important for the airtightness of the distribution centre. They ensure that no air enters or leaves the building before, during and after loading or unloading. With highquality Dock Bumpers, Stertil ensures that the trucks can dock safely.
The doors and levellers are equipped with sensors. These sensors keep track of any malfunctions, and also track how often the doors and levellers open and close. Based on this data, Stertil can quickly take corrective action in the event of malfunctions and optimise maintenance. Cohen, “The data is read out via the DOCC Control app. DOCC Control is the super smart building management platform from DOKVAST, which is currently being implemented at NewLogic III. We are involved in supply of the doors and levellers. We are proud to be able to make our contribution to the future of building management in this way”.
